Skins with Friends is a new game that tracks friendly skin style wagers between you and your friends. It allows you to setup a group of friends and then engage in contests based on live sporting events or really anything you like.

For example, suppose you have a group of 5 friends that like to watch hockey games. You can easily create a contest for each game where each user wagers a certain amount, say $5. The pot for the contest is then $25 Each player (in the group) in turn makes a selection of a player on the hockey team.

The app manages the draft order (including push notifications for each players turn) and collects the picks. If a hockey player scores who has been picked, that group player gets a skin. The contest creator (owner) will have the ability to adjust the skins during the game. The skin value and amount each player is winning will be immediately visible to the other players in the group. In our example, the player that got the skin will be currently winning the full pot of $25. If another player gets a skin, then the skin value is cut in half and the two players with one skin each will split the pot.

When the contest is complete, the overall balance of each group member is adjusted based on the winning amounts and push notifications are sent out.

Contests can be based on anything you would like (football, hockey, baseball, non sports) and the rules for what can be picked and what constitutes a skin is up to you. For example, you could do a football contest where each person drafts a quarterback, and a skin is recorded for each touchdown pass thrown.

Each app player needs to register with their name, email and phone number. Once they are registered, they can be added to your group, and you are off and running.

Note this app does not handle any financial transactions, You will need to use another method (Venmo, apple cash, etc) to settle up. The app has a “Settle up” feature that will tell the group how much they owe to another player. The algorithm of “minimum transactions” is used so that each player only has to pay one other at most.
